Easytherm, the evolution in the industrial field
A new design approach for an industrial product
In the world of industrial technical equipment, function often takes priority over product design. Aquatech, a division of the leader group Piovan, pays attention to all products within the world of industrial molding, favoring materials and solutions, which, in addition to being functional, are strongly recognizable and strategically express the brand.
The thermoregulator (usually positioned on the press edge and functioning to regulate the thermal cycle of the molding), was MM Design’s challenge: make it a functional, practical and attentive product for users' needs, while taking care of other aspects, such as perfect visibility of its control panel. So, it was positioned in an incline, becoming ideal for reading important data. Another very important, often forgotten aspect, is the possibility of being able to move from one press to another via wheels. However, with the insertion of a handle, transport ergonomics were greatly improved. But this added user experience does not detract from overall design, as the handle disappears inside when not in use.
The design of Easytherm won the IF Award in 2019.
