The Plana Cultural Association Celebrates 50 Years

MM Design celebrated 50 years of cultural and social engagement with the PLANA Cultural Association and their esteemed friend Sergio Costa.
Alex Terzariol, General Manager, and Maria Elisabetta Ripamonti, Head of Business Development at MM Design, reflected on the company’s ethical approach to design—a philosophy synonymous with a new form of beauty: beauty as goodness, capable of bringing happiness.

Amid the extraordinary Compasso d'Oro Collection at the ADI Design Museum, showcasing the finest projects from 1954 to the present, Terzariol and Ripamonti highlighted other remarkable examples of Italy’s "Bel Paese," where history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes converge. Above all, their focus was on the future: from Italy’s unparalleled heritage of craftsmanship to the scientific and technological innovations for which the country is globally admired. At the core of ethical design lies a commitment to people’s lives, their needs and aspirations, and the prosperity of communities. For MM Design, these are not just lofty ideals but tangible principles driving their work, rooted firmly in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values.

Today, design holds a broader role. MM Design is not just about creating products but also experiences and strategies, achieved through careful observation of the world and its interrelated systems. The company addresses environmental challenges by promoting low-impact materials and adopting cradle-to-cradle design principles. Beyond that, MM Design partners with companies to define governance models, devise innovative business strategies, develop long-term roadmaps, and generate economic and social value.

“In this age of artificial intelligence and robotics,” they emphasize, “it is the immeasurable depth of the human soul that allows us to feel emotions, appreciate beauty, art, and culture. This same ethos drives the PLANA Association to recognize and celebrate people and businesses striving to improve our collective quality of life.”

Happy anniversary from the entire MM Design team!
