COMPASSO D'ORO
Established in 1954, the Compasso d'Oro ADI Award is the oldest, but above all, the most authoritative world design award. Started from Gio Ponti’s idea, it was organized by ‘Rinascente’ department stores for years, in order to highlight the value and quality of Italian design products at the time.
Subsequently, it was donated to the ADI, which from 1958 onward took care of the organization, presiding over its impartiality and its integrity.
Nearly three hundred projects have been awarded over fifty years, together with another almost two thousand selected with an Honorable Mention, all of which are collected and kept under the jurisdiction of the Historical Collection of the Compasso d'Oro ADI Award, whose management has been entrusted to the ADI Foundation and established for this purpose by ADI in 2001.
Winning the Compasso d 'Oro means having created a product of the highest excellence, and since this award is only given every two years, this is the most important recognition for good design in Italy, as well as being among the most authoritative in the world. A winning result is therefore of the highest level for our clients.
