WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM: “Rebuilding Trust” - Davos 2024
The 54th edition of the World Economic Forum is being held in Davos, with the participation of over sixty heads of state and government and around three thousand protagonists from one hundred and twenty countries in different economic, political, scientific, and cultural worlds. The meeting, held annually since 1971, has been one of the most important events in the field of economic and social policy at a global level, during which many principal challenges are discussed.
The title of the 2024 edition is "Rebuilding Trust." These are some of the themes to be discussed: building a safer world, reformulating the lines of dialogue, economic growth, climate change, and artificial intelligence. At a time when the five wealthiest men in the world have more than doubled their assets, from $405 billion to $869 billion since 2020, the event analyzes many social contrasts. In over 200 work sessions the protagonists take note of the uncertainty that permeates the global scenario torn apart by wars and seek answers capable of rebuilding trust in the future, not only from an economic point of view but also from a geopolitical one.
Within the event, there will also be the Open Forum Davos, the World Economic Forum event open to the public which allows participants to engage in discussions between political, economic, scientific, and civil society leaders. "From the Laboratory to Life: Science in Action" is this year's theme which focuses on the role of science and its impact on all sectors of life and the planet.
