The Project
Idea
Goldeneye and Woodeye are the latest products. Their design represents a concentration of sophisticated high technology that allows quickly collecting thousands of images of the scanned boards.
Their innovative concept of architecture allows the scanners to be extremely compact in their dimensions. All the optical parts are positioned on a frame independent of the metal housing, thus not transmitting vibrations to the electronic components.
The shape of the Goldeneye and Woodeye scanners wants to represent iconographically a big electronic eye, a lens that performs in-depth and meticulous analysis and inspections.
They analyze the qualities of boards to select them according to their aesthetic and structural characteristics. The luminous perimeter behind a particular proscenium between the frontal and the lateral panels tells the operator the machine's state by changing its color.
The Process
Differentiation & Impact
What differentiates them from the competitors is their extremely compact design and their iconographic shape. In fact, the architecture of the internal system was the first aspect to be designed to reduce the scanners' volume and allow easy access for maintenance.
The entire housing is made of sheet metal to ensure the necessary robustness to the equipment and reduce the costs. The internal frame and the external housing are highly sustainable since it's easy to disassemble them and recover the raw materials at the end of the PLC.
