Meticulous operations, such as the soldering of two bodies using gold wire held by the skilled fingers of the goldsmith, carry some degree of risk for the fingertips exposed to the heat of the flame necessary for melting the wire.
From these premises arises LaPx, a mechanical pencil for Progold, a company based in Vicenza specializing in goldsmith equipment. With a simple finger gesture, the advancement of noble metal wire of various diameters (even as thin as a hair!) is activated for melting, thus ensuring the safety of the operator's fingers.
In designing LaPx, MM Design focused on the best grip of the pen, on weight reduction (thanks to the use of chromed aluminum), on possible customization, and, above all, on the easy operation of the device for the constant pitch wire output.
The product is unique in its kind, a technical and mechanical evolution.
