Living outdoors is a growing necessity, and many outdoor enthusiasts desire adequate climate comfort in their campers and caravans. From these premises arises a unique product, respectful of nature.
The CONCEPT
In tackling the design of a new air conditioner, MM Design focused primarily on creating a very compact product, whose small volume allows it to be mounted on any type of roof for different models of campers and caravans. Compared to existing 220V roof air conditioners for the European Motorhome sector, OFF is innovative. Its direct current compressor and extraordinary energy management enable the use of the air conditioner on hot and muggy summer nights, even off-grid, without the need for an electric generator.
The design achieves a synthesis between visible and hidden parts, creating a soft shape that can be adapted to any vehicle model without losing its identity and character. OFF stands out from the models on the market, which tend to have streamlined shapes even though aerodynamics in this case is not crucial. For the interior, the transition of shapes makes the product very compact, allowing for height space.
Additionally, a graphical display provides all information in a simple manner, and controls can also be managed remotely via an app.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Energy saving is an essential aspect. Plein_Aircon operates at 12V and can quickly air-condition the camper environment while consuming minimal energy.
OFF is made of injection-molded plastic, resistant to atmospheric agents, and available in multiple colors. A central panel includes an internal part consisting of a light source, making the product resemble a low-energy skylight.
