In pursuing a shape which was able to summarise expressed concepts, while still remaining clear and legible, designers found a cohesion of otherwise conficting topics.
The Project
An intelligent system on wheels
In other words, the product’s design reduced dimensions and part layout, while increasing practicality, manageability and cleaning ease.
In order to combine all the above conditions within a precise and meticulously defined design language, the shape had to encompass a lot in its single body.
By attentively studying the ergonomics and work functions which hospital workers perform in the ward, designers placed the touch screen monitor in a tilt position, better optimised for improved reading and data entry. Additionally, the medicine-drawer opening functions like the one which disposes waste in the specific bin on the side, both carefully analysed from a correct standing position. The hospital worker’s work is thus improved and follows specific steps, reducing the risk of error.
