Winter sports require ever greater attention in the preparation of slopes and fields for athletes and competitors, but also for normal users wishing to practice these sports safely.
THE PROJECT
Ice arenas are of particular importance for hockey teams, artistic and figure skating, speed and short track skating, as well as for families and children who want to balance on two steel blades for their Sunday entertainment. For all these users, a track prepared in the best possible way is essential to limit falls and injuries.
Engo, a leading company in the world of ice-shaving machines, has long developed and patented various systems for the perfect smoothing of ice surfaces, making it a true mirror without roughness. Technical excellence combined with a respect for the environment (their first electric ice-shaving machine dates back to the ‘90s) have allowed Engo to be chosen for the best ice rinks in Europe and other countries.
THE PROCESS
In addition to these important factors, design has added a fundamental element: the expression of its value and innovation in the external quality at the heart of the machine. Engo entrusted itself to the MM Design studio, which has thirty years of experience designing, among other things, snow groomers and snow blowers for important European companies. From this collaboration IcePanther was created, an innovative concept of ice-shaving machine.
The technical performance of the highest level is expressed by a unique and characteristic design, highlighted above all by the breakdown of the three volumes which create a very identifying Y in the profile of the machine, becoming the characteristic sign of the Engo brand. The driving position, thanks to careful ergonomic study, has been designed to give the operator greater maneuverability and better comfort. In particular, the steering column and its position have been offset from the driving axis to allow better lateral vision during mowing work. Furthermore, all the controls have been positioned for their intuitive operation. The driving position was thought of as a platform that can be configured by the customer, based on the work habits of its operators and based on specific technical requests.
Thanks to its design and technique, IcePanther today represents the highest point of global innovation in the ice-shaving machine sector, the result of a winning collaboration between Italian companies
