Attack is a revolutionary snap-link or carabiner used for climbing with fixed ropes and designed by MM Design on behalf of the Salewa group.
Unlike classic mountain climbing snap-links, this product (to be used with fixed ropes) has a safety catch on the opening, which prevents the snap ring from opening when tackling particularly difficult climbs.
Consisting of a hooking system with a safety catch and a locking system, “Attack” enables rapid and easy opening even on the most difficult climbs, while subsequently preventing inadvertent openings. However, it is possible to release the safety catch immediately, when required.
Ladders can be attached to the clip in about half the time required for conventional steel cable systems, making it appealing to sport enthusiasts, as well as climbers. The aluminium alloy used is both highly robust and lightweight
The design solution was inspired from the building trade, where a similar type of hooking system with a safety catch is used in various types of scaffolding, such as those used by window cleaners, prompting visions of skyscrapers.
