The September issue of Domus, dedicated to cover public areas and sustainable mobility, talks about E-move, a charging station for electric automobiles, motorcycles and bikes.
The MM Design project plans the development of charging stations equipped with energy producing photovoltaic panels for installation in chosen areas around the city.
The special inclined shape of charging stations allows for photovoltaic panels to benefit from the most possible solar irradiation. The bearing structure is built with IPE beams adequately modelled and fixed into the ground with cement plinths.
A water-repellent bench is fitted outside the structure to allow users to briefly stop over and charge their laptop batteries, mobiles phones or any other type of portable device, free of charge.
Technical devices are fitted and protected in the internal part, on the base of the bearing structure; devices include: inverters and power switchboards suited for charging vehicles for a fee. It is a simple, intuitive design that enables users to benefit from this service quickly and efficiently.
During night time, this charging station becomes a pleasant, reassuring luminous urban “structure”. All materials used comply with low environmental impact principles and are designed to withstand vandalism.
